Panthers and Cowboys Week 7 Preview
Cowboys 2-2
Panthers 1-4
Yeeeeeeh Hawwwww The Panthers get set to take on the Cowboys at home in week 7. This preview is early considering it's only week 6. Cowboys come off a game against the Ravens to face a well rested Panthers.
Lets talk Cowboys for a minute. They are starting to look pretty bad considering that stunning season opener win against the Giants averaging only 68 yards per game on the ground. Forcing Tony Romo to throw the ball to the other team, whoops I mean his team. Sorry my sentence was intercepted, hopefully thats the last time this article and not four more times. Romo was terrible on Sunday against the Bears throwing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 interceptions in that game. If they want to get things going against the Panthers they must get a ground game going to help open up the pass.
Panthers Defense has to play like they did against Seattle if they want to beat the Cowboys. They intercepted Russel Wilson twice and had one pick 6. My "Panthers Prowl Opinion" the defense is starting to impress me after that loss to the giants, they failed in the end with the Falcons but came back strong against the Seahawks. Charles Johnson and that front four looked great the last two games, Consistent Cats is the nickname we want from here on out.
Cam vs Romo
I know I know, This isn't really a match up of the week by any means. However, whichever one of these players brings their A game sunday, should add a W on the record list. Cam Newton has a OBR of 80.9 with 1,154 yards and 4 TD's and 5 INT's. Not to Mention 5 carries of 209 yards and 3 TD's.
He struggled big time against a tough Seahawk's defense sunday and honestly he might not be much better against the Cowboys. With Panthers newly signed Center Austin and DT Jay Ratliff returning to the cowboys tough 3-4 defense, making things complicated for Cam. Lets hope Austin can handle Ratliff and Cam won't fumble away the win holding on to the ball to long. Something he needs to work on desperately. Cam should be able to get some yardage both passing and running if they have play calling like they ran on the Saints.
Romo has struggled just like Cam throwing 8 INT's, 5 TD's this year, for 1,148 yards and a OBR of 78.5. Romo is consistently making bad decisions and throwing the game away. He's doesn't need to be a pro bowl quarterback to win against the Panthers, just less turnovers and better reads. Both Quarterbacks have talent and are in a slump which is why a good game from one of them should help seal the deal.
Both Defenses are playing strong and hopefully continue to play this way into this game. Of course my bias Panthers Prowl Prediction is Panthers winning this game at home. It's going to be a close one.
For a more detailed preview come back next friday for a Gameday weekend prediction for all NFL games.
